These are the most common plans

Each and every Medicare Supplement plan includes coverage for Medicare Part A coinsurance and hospital costs up to an additional 365 days after Medicare benefits are used up. Here are comparisons for the rest of the coverage offered by Supplemental Medicare.

Plan G

After you meet the Part B deductible, Plan G covers all other out-of pocket expenses not covered by Part A and Part B. This includes any copays, coinsurance, and any other deductibles. There are no network restrictions, allowing you to visit any provider in the U.S. that accepts Medicare. Plan G also covers foreign travel emergencies, hospice coinsurance and copays, and skilled nursing facility care coinsurance.

Plan F

Plan F covers all out-of pocket expenses left over from both part A and B, including all deductibles and copayments. There are no network restrictions, so you can use Plan F at any facility nationwide as long as they accept Medicare.Plan F also covers foreign travel emergencies, nursing facility care, and hospice copays

HDG

The High-Deductible G plan is designed for those that want a majority of the benefits and accessibility of Plan G, but may not be able to afford it. The HDG covers all out-of pocket expenses not covered by Part A and Part B coinsurance after the policy holder reaches an annual $2340 deductible. There are no network restrictions, allowing you to visit any provider in the U.S. that accepts Medicare. The HDG also covers hospice coinsurance and copay, along with skilled nursing facility care coinsurance

Plan N

Plan N comes with a $20 office visit copay and a $50 ER and urgent care copay after your Part B annual deductible is met. Plan N does not cover Part B excess charges, so the policyholder may be liable for any excess charges made by the physician. Also included in this plan is skilled nursing home facilities, Part A hospice care coinsurance and copay, and foreign travel emergencies. There are no network restrictions, so you can use Plan N at any provider in the U.S. that accepts Medicare.

Medicare Advantage

These plans offer the same coverage as Medicare Parts A and B, plus additional benefits like gym memberships, dental coverage, and ride-share programs, at no additional cost. In many cases, Medicare Advantage plans offer $0 premiums, however, these plans typically come with copays and a larger deductible, as well as smaller networks (HMO).
